NTGD results Thank YouNorth Texas Giving Day is more than just a one-day event. It’s a community movement!  This year the movement culminates on September 20, 2018, starting at 6am and ending at midnight. North Texas Giving Day started simply; it was a tool to help donors give wisely to their favorite nonprofits. The event started with Dallas County rallying together to support local nonprofits. In its first year, North Texas Giving Day blew everyone away raising over $4 million for 354 nonprofits. The movement quickly grew, adding 15 more counties to have North Texas Giving Day cover the full North Texas Region. Thanks to the groundswell of giving of this regional movement, in 2017 alone North Texas Giving Day helped raise more than $39 million benefiting more than 2,700 North Texas nonprofits, proving the wide held belief that everything is, in fact, bigger in Texas!

One of the best qualities about North Texas Giving Day is its diversity. Nonprofits of all sizes can participate. This means NorthTexasGivingDay.org features large nonprofits like KERA to small organizations like The Love Pit; all are represented! To help all nonprofits be successful in the day, North Texas Giving Day creates a library of resources including toolkits, graphics, and templates. By providing these tools, we help increase capacity, giving organizations fundraising and marketing tools they can use year-round.

North Texas Giving Day also works to democratize giving and allows donors to donate to their favorite nonprofits all at the same time in the same place. With features like shopping carts and donor profiles, individuals can search to find organizations that support the causes they care about while engaging with new organizations too.IMG_1365.jpg

This year North Texas Giving Day is encouraging donors to engage more deeply and become ambassadors for their organizations. Instead of just making their own donations, donors can create FUNdraising pages on behalf of the nonprofits, encouraging their networks to donate as well. The second new opportunity allows donors to volunteer their time to their favorite organizations, pledging their time to volunteer and participate in North Texas Giving Day volunteer events.

2018 marks the 10th anniversary of North Texas Giving Day, and to celebrate, we’re making things even bigger!  The movement kicks off on September 10, with 10 days of scheduled giving to allow for everyone to join in on the fun, even before Giving Day. Visit NorthTexasGivingDay.org today to find your favorite organization and how you can get involved today!
