The Dallas Tennis Association (DTA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization who provides junior and adult tennis programming to the Dallas metropolitan area.
Dallas Tennis Association’s Motto is: We Serve…Everyone wins.
The DTA’s benevolent arm is the Dallas Tennis and Education Academy (DTEA). The DTEA provides low-cost/no-cost programs to under-resourced, at-risk children. These programs include tennis and education instruction, tennis equipment, scholarships, tournament and special events travel expenses, and, more importantly, life-skills training. Our programs run year round: after school, weekends, and summer (including many special events). DTEA supports diverse populations with offerings for everyone between the ages of 3 and 18, beginners to advanced. Those children who have stayed in our program have a 100% high school graduation rate, 100% attend or have attended college (many go on for post-graduate education), and 98% have received academic and/or tennis scholarships. The DTEA’s education component is the ACE curriculum (Academic, Creative, Engagement) which is part of the United States Tennis Association’s (USTA) National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) program.
Program participants would not have had these successes without our tennis and education opportunities. In addition, graduates from our program give back by becoming part-time tennis instructors to the latest generation of participants.
The DTEA programs change lives every day. We proudly say that tennis is our hook and education and success is the outcome. Who could ask for more than that? By supporting us on North Texas Giving Day, September 22, you can also change lives.
